TLC 157 - Mixed designs

I did this card card for Monday's technique challenge. It was to use different patterned paper. This is a hard thing for me. I pulled out these two from Cosmo Cricket's Jitterbug line and stayed with bug theme with this adorable lady bug from Papertrey's Little Lady set. I just got this set and I LOVE it. They Papertrey stamps really are nicer than some of the other one's out there. I added chocolate chip and very vanilla for contract and put it on a kraft card. I added the pink satin ribbon and the brown gingham and the turquoise snaps that I squished with my crop-a-dile. Then I sketched dashes around the edge of the card to pull it all together. I stamped Happy Birthday to you and popped up the Happy. (In this picture it covers the Birthday to you. ). I really need to get a new camera. I like how this turned out. I normally stick to bright white for my backgrounds, so this is a nice change.

Card Sketch Challenge

I made this card for Wednesday's sketch challenge. The first picture shows the card sketch. The second shows the card I made. I really liked this sketch because the front panel let me play with my new sell-a-bration set from Stampin' up. Friendship Blooms. I have a tendency to collect flower stamps and as soon as I saw this one, I knew I had to have it.

I used the Provo Craft piece of designer paper as my color inspirations. I pulled out my new Pumpkin pie paper and ink and my standby Tempting Turqoise and went from there. I colored the big flower with markers and then stamped it so I get get a larger range of colors. I stamped a "ribbon" of three flowers. I added the rhinestone jewels to the flower centers. I am pretty happy with how this turned out. I think I may have to try another card with this sketch.

Last Minute Valentine's

Well nothing like leaving to the last minute. I just finished my Valentine's projects. The first picture shows the little altered fruit cups that I did for my husband's co-workers. I took the fruit tins and used a can-opener to remove the botton. I filled them with trail mix (in a bag) and confetti and sealed up the bottom. I decorated them with Pink and Green Striped and paisley designer paper (I think it is from Making Memories). I stamped the tags (you can't really see them in the picture and the center circles in the flowers. I got the flowers at the dollar store (just dismantled the silk flowers and put a brad through them.) I am very happy with how they turned out.

The second batch of projects are for my co-workers and my family. The middle is a candy sack (actually it is filled with cashews in a mini-ziploc back.) The cardstock is folded around the bag and tied at the top with a tag on a scallop punched piece of cardstock. The side bags are the stander 2-4-6-8 bags. I put a box of Conversation hearts in each one. The Scallop punch on the fronts are stamped with the heart from "Made from Scratch" and them I stuck on a sweet silver heart charm I got at Walmart. I didn't have time to really decorate these so they are on the plain side, but I think they will be appreciated.

Thank you card

My little guy was sick all last week with a cold. I mentioned to my aunt (who works in a natural remedy store) that I was looking for something to give him (other than medicine) that would help him out. She said she would look into it. Two days later, I got an entire bag full of vitamins and other things for my little guy. I wanted to make her a special card as a thank you.

This card started off with playing with stamping on acetate. The white flowers are actually stamped in craft ink and heat set. I had a scrap of tempting turquoise so I started there. I had this ribbon that I had gotten as a set in the Target dollar bins and pulled out my Little Hellos set. The image is matted on Paper Company Peppermint pink and orange textured paper.

A Busy Week!

As you can see it has been awhile since I have posted. I have been busily cleaning up my craft room. (We are giving it an overhaul.) I am very excited because it will mean more working space. I was able to put this card together for my father-in-law's birthday on Thursday. It is on the simple side because most of my brads etc are already packed up. I haven't used this set in awhile, so I decided to pull it out. (It is one of the only sets I have that doesn't have a bunch of flowers.)

Things I am looking forward to: My Stampin up order (should be here any day and will have my 2 Sale-a-bration sets.), the new Papertrey Ink stamps and designers and my craft room being done. :-)
